The AAFP Division of Continuing Medical Education has completely revamped its CME Self-Study Family Medicine Board Review Clinical Learning Package for 2009-10. New features include online access to 90 new quiz questions, professionally edited content for greater ease in studying, and a compact and user-friendly package design featuring just one three-ring binder that contains all the media and text in the program.

The Family Medicine Board Review Clinical Learning Package 2009-10 presents content via several formats, including CD, DVD and MP3 player.
"This Board Review product, which is an essential study tool for AAFP members and other learners, was redesigned based on user feedback," said Mindi McKenna, Ph.D., M.B.A, director of the AAFP Division of Continuing Medical Education. "We believe it will enhance the learner's knowledge base as well as the educational experience by providing content that is accessible through various learning formats to address diverse learning styles."

The AAFP board review package offers family physicians help in preparing for the American Board of Family Medicine certification and recertification examinations. The course emphasizes a broadly-based review program, and now offers 62 topics, including sections on musculoskeletal conditions, geriatric health, pediatric health, adolescent health, internal medicine and women's health. A special addition this year is the topic, "Test-Taking Techniques: How to Pass a Standardized Board Examination."

Also included in the course is the new booklet, "12-Lead ECGs: A Pocket Brain for Easy Interpretation," which is designed to supplement the topic on electrocardiogram interpretation.

In addition, physician-learners now also can choose to receive the materials in any one of three formats: CD, DVD or MP3 player.

According to McKenna, the price of the clinical learning package remains unchanged.
