Want the latest news sent to you as soon as it's posted at AAFP News Now? You can enjoy that convenience via the new ANN RSS feed options.

RSS
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is an XML (extensible markup language)-based format for distributing content on the Web. Here's how to use the new RSS feed options to receive ANN content.
  • Select an RSS/news reader (also called an aggregator). A reader enables you to view news from several sources at one location -- the reader. Many people use free Web-based readers, such as 24eyes.com and My Yahoo. (Visit the RSS Compendium for information about other free readers for Windows, Mac and other platforms.)
  • Set up your account with the reader.
  • Follow the reader's directions to select the RSS feed from AAFP News Now. Or, you can choose to receive the RSS feeds in selected ANN content areas only, such as Government & Medicine and Practice Management (content areas are listed on the left side of the ANN home page).
  • Many news organizations, such as CNN, BBC News and The New York Times, offer RSS feeds. So you'll be able to review all of that content, as well as ANN content, in one place.
Whenever a new story is posted at ANN, the headline will be delivered to your RSS reader. On some readers, the first few lines of the story will appear as well. A link will take you to the full story at ANN. Some readers also will allow you to e-mail the story to others.

The ANN RSS feeds can go to any XML-compatible device, including cell phones and handheld computers, without a lengthy download.
