AAFP Offers Volunteer Opportunities

Family physicians are needed all over the world, and the AAFP provides opportunities for its members to serve patients and fellow family physicians on an international and domestic level.

A host of disaster and non-disaster volunteer opportunities are posted on the Academy's Web site. You also may contact the Academy at volunteer@aafp.org to add your name to the AAFP Volunteer's Database.

Consider joining the Physicians With Heart Delegation, a partnership of the AAFP, AAFP Foundation and Heart To Heart International that mobilizes resources to improve health, provide medical education and foster the development of family medicine around the world. Physicians With Heart will participate in a humanitarian airlift to Moldova Oct. 19-29.

Help disaster victims by donating to the General Disaster Recovery fund or the AAFP President's Challenge: Physicians' Disaster Assistance Program, which aids family physicians affected by last year's hurricanes. The AAFP also has funds to help people affected by global disasters and contributes to the International Fund for the Physicians With Heart Children's Project.
