ALF/NCSC: One Location -- Two Conferences

Become a stronger chapter leader and advocate. Brainstorm and network with chapter leader peers and others with similar priorities. Both activities can happen in May in Kansas City, Mo., at the Annual Leadership Forum, or ALF, and the National Conference of Special Constituencies, or NCSC.

ALF, scheduled for May 4-5, will focus on strengthening leadership skills, enhancing advocacy efforts, updating knowledge of family medicine leadership issues and renewing enthusiasm for family medicine. Participants also can talk one-on-one with AAFP leaders and learn how other chapters address common issues.

NCSC, to be held May 3-5, addresses topics of interest to women, minorities, new physicians, international medical graduates, and physicians involved in gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender issues. Conference participants may attend as representative of their constituent chapters or as individuals. Attendees will create resolutions and suggest policies and programs for special constituencies, elect leaders to AAFP's Congress of Delegates and AMA's Young Physicians Section, and vote on resolutions in business sessions. Attendees also can learn to build stronger policy development skills and enhance effectiveness at local, state and national levels.

Register for ALF or for NCSC before March 14 and receive the early-bird rate -- $195 for either conference.
