A small percentage of the Academy's nearly 60,000 active members may have the opportunity to participate in a national survey spearheaded by the AMA, with the support of the AAFP, and conducted by the Gallup Organization.
AAFP Encourages Member Participation in Survey of America's Physicians

The survey is designed to collect up-to-date information on physician practice characteristics; results will be used to develop AMA and AAFP policy. The survey will be conducted in several waves ending in December.
The AMA has provided a uniform announcement for distribution to each of the more than 60 medical specialty societies participating in the project.
"The Academy is supporting the AMA in this endeavor because AAFP leaders know it's critical that the views of family physicians be reflected in the survey results," said AAFP Board Chair Larry Fields, M.D., of Flatwoods, Ky. "I encourage any Academy member who receives an invitation to participate in this survey to carefully consider the request. Collectively, those members that do respond to the survey will speak for all of family medicine," he said.
