EHR User-Satisfaction Survey
Family Practice Management Seeks Member Input

AAFP members who've implemented electronic health records in their practices now can help paper-based family physicians make the move to EHRs by completing Family Practice Management's 2007 EHR user-satisfaction survey.
The survey is published in FPM's April issue and is available online.
FPM Editor-in-Chief Robert Edsall said the survey is a way to collect satisfaction data from a large number of family physicians who use EHRs and who have experience with a variety of EHR products.
"We aim to help future purchasers of EHR systems make sound choices for their practices," said Edsall.
FPM's first EHR survey, published in 2005, yielded 400-plus member responses and product-specific information for 11 EHR systems.
"In the two years since our last survey, dozens of EHR programs have come out in new versions," said Edsall. "Thousands of EHR users have become happier -- or more frustrated -- with the systems they use, and untold numbers of family physicians have made the leap to electronic records. It's high time for a new survey."
To accommodate busy family physicians, the 2007 survey has been shortened. Respondents can expect questions about their EHR system's functionality and usability, their overall satisfaction with their EHRs, and their satisfaction levels with vendor service and support.
Submit completed surveys no later than July 31, and watch for survey results in a future issue of FPM.
