Advocate Effectively

Family Medicine Congressional Conference Shows You How

By News Staff

Learn the finer points of effective lobbying -- then practice your new skills on Capitol Hill -- during the 2008 Family Medicine Congressional Conference May 19-20 in Washington, D.C. For the first time, the conference is open to all AAFP members and others in the academic family medicine community.

The conference program will cover family medicine's legislative priority issues and provide comprehensive training on how to be successful in your advocacy efforts. You'll return home with skills that will make you a better advocate in your state capitol as well.

If you've attended before, consider bringing a colleague who doesn't have lobbying experience to the conference this year.

The conference is sponsored by the AAFP and the Academic Family Medicine Advocacy Alliance.

Register online by March 21, 2008, to secure the early-bird registration fee. Early registration is encouraged.
