2011 National Conference

New Resident and Student Leaders Elected

By News Staff  • Kansas City, Mo.

The AAFP hosted 3,147 registrants, including 798 medical students and 1,026 family medicine residents, during its National Conference of Family Medicine Residents and Medical Students here on July 28-30.

Delegates to the National Congress of Family Medicine Residents and National Congress of Student Members chose new leaders on July 30 to represent them in the coming year. Here are the election results:

AAFP Board of Directors resident and student Board member candidates: Brent Smith, M.D., of Brandon, Miss., and Jessica Johnson, of Newington, Conn.

Chairs of the 2012 National Conference of Family Medicine Residents and Medical Students: Kevin Bernstein, M.D., of Pensacola, Fla., and Alyson Lewis, of Ormond Beach, Fla.

Alternate resident/student delegates to the 2011 AAFP Congress of Delegates:
Megan Guffey, M.D., of Tucson, Ariz.; Nathan Krug, M.D., of Bel Aire, Kan.; Aaron Meyer, of St. Louis, Mo.; and Tessa Rohrberg, of Wichita, Kan.

Resident representative to the Association of Family Medicine Residency Directors Board of Directors: Sneha Chacko, M.D., of Yorktown Heights, N.Y.

Student representative to the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine Board of Directors: Carllin Man, of Detroit. Sarah Tully Marks, M.D., of Shorewood, Wis., is staying on as resident representative.

National Family Medicine Interest Group Coordinator:
Nailah Adams, of Durham, N.C.
