AAFP Joins 'Digital Revolution' With Launch of New Journal Apps
By News Staff
According to the Academy, these new apps will help put the clinical knowledge in AFP and the practice management knowledge in FPM into members' and subscribers' hands where ever they may need it. The apps bring "all of the journals' content to the exam room, the morning commute, the living-room sofa, and anywhere else subscribers may want to access the latest in family medicine," says a press release from the AAFP.
Nonmembers and nonsubscribers to AFP and FPM can either subscribe or purchase individual issues of the journals. Subscribers will receive free access to all AFP or FPM issues covered by their subscription. Users also will be able to e-mail articles, link to hyperlinks in the articles and directly link to journal quizzes.
Both apps currently are available in the Apple App Store. They can be read on the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch running iOS 5.0 or higher. According to the AAFP, an Android version should be available in early March.
