Last Call to Complete FPM Survey of Public, Private Payers
By News Staff

Family physicians who want to give their health plans a performance appraisal -- and share those findings with their FP colleagues -- are running out of time. The deadline to take the AAFP/Family Practice Management "Grade Your Payers" survey is March 1.
FPM introduced the survey to Academy members last fall in an electronic format, and hundreds of family physicians responded. However, according to FPM's editorial staff, a number of FPs requested a paper version.
FPM has complied with that request by including a removable, paper-based survey in its January 2007 print issue. Information about the survey is provided in an accompanying article.
Members also can download the survey (PDF file 2 pages / 88 KB. More about PDFs) from the AAFP Web site, print it off, fill it out, and fax or mail it to the FPM address at the top of the survey.
Of course, members still have time to complete the survey online (Members Only), too. Don't miss the chance to grade as many as 10 health plans in such categories as

Of course, members still have time to complete the survey online (Members Only), too. Don't miss the chance to grade as many as 10 health plans in such categories as
- payment rates,
- adherence to CPT codes in claims processing,
- timeliness of payment, and
- responsiveness to your practice's concerns.
Give them an "A" for excellent or an "F" for failure -- but give those health plans a grade! Member responses are key to the development of a payer report card FPM will generate and share with readers in a future issue.
