Course Discusses 'New Reality' of Practice Management

Want to upgrade your medical office to reflect today's business environment? A new AAFP practice management course, to be held June 21-23 in San Antonio, can help family physicians, practice managers and front-office staff members get the skills they need.

Practice Management for the 21st Century: The New Reality will cover issues such as health information technology, coding, practice redesign, financial management, personnel issues, evaluation of health plan contracts, development of a regulatory compliance plan and compliance with Stark laws governing physician referrals.

The course is designed to provide practical and achievable "next steps" that can enhance daily operations. It is appropriate for all physicians who own their practices --whatever the practice size -- and for third-year residents and is especially aimed at assisting practice managers and front-office staff.

Early bird registration is available until March 15. FPs can earn as many as 17.50 Prescribed credits for completing this CME activity.
