AAMC Calls for Nominees for Resident Community Service Award

The Association of American Medical Colleges Organization of Resident Representatives is accepting nominations for its 2007 Resident Physician Community Service Recognition Award. The award recognizes residents who have demonstrated a commitment to community service "above and beyond the rigors of residency training," according to an Association of American Medical Colleges, or AAMC, announcement.

This Just In ...
Any resident at an AAMC member institution is eligible to be nominated. Nominations must be made through a representative of the AAMC Organization of Resident Representatives, or ORR, or a representative from the AAMC Group on Resident Affairs, or GRA. The winner will be honored during the AAMC's 2007 annual meeting, and a $500 donation will be presented to the winner's charity of choice.

Nominations are due by June 30 and must include a letter of nomination, a letter of endorsement from an ORR or GRA representative, a 2007 nomination form, (PDF file: 1 page / 64 KB. More about PDFs.) the nominee's curriculum vitae, and a letter from the nominee accepting the nomination and designating the charity to receive the donation.
