AAFP Awards for Chapter Staff

The Award of Merit recognizes those deemed by the AAFP Board of Directors to have contributed, in a distinguished manner, toward advancement of family medicine. It commends exceptional individual efforts. It is not restricted to members or physicians and is the preferred recognition for Chapter and AAFP staff. Chapter staff are nominated for the award via a request to the Chapter Relations Subcommittee of the Commission on Membership and Member Services, which may make a recommendation for approval to the AAFP Board. Examples of recognition include exceptional individual service on behalf of the chapter and for years of service prior to retirement.

The Executive Service Award is presented on behalf of the AAFP Board of Directors and Chapter Relations Subcommittee of the Commission on Membership and Member Services to chapter executives in recognition of 25 years of service to the AAFP and the chapter. It is traditionally presented at the Annual Leadership Forum.
