Special Comments: The mission of the East Kentucky Family Medicine Residency Program is to prepare family practitioners for careers in rural medicine who are dedicated to meeting the health care needs of the people of rural Appalachia. The training is designed to prepare residents for meeting the unique demands of a rural practice and for providing quality care in rural settings. Over 80% of the program’s grads have chosen rural practice, the majority in Kentucky.
