Only 20 minutes from Baltimore's Inner Harbor, Franklin Square Family Medicine community program is one of the oldest in the country. Our 350-bed hospital has academic affiliations with Georgetown and University of Maryland, and residencies in OB, Internal Medicine and Surgery. We are active members of the Family Medicine Education Consortium and will host the 2008 NE-Regional STFM meeting. Residents spend one month each semester of each year (total 6) in the FHC. They average 2,000 visits of which almost half are under the age of 17. If you are torn between pediatrics and family medicine, note that it is the Family Practice residents that provide all of the pedicatric resident coverage for the hospital, ER, Nursery and NICU.
