The Mayo Clinic Family Medicine Residency Program encourages residents to become involved in medical care and humanitarian aid for underserved populations around the world. The Mayo International Health Program helps defray travel and basic living expenses of residents during short-term international trips. In recent years, residents receiving scholarships have traveled to India, Ghana and Costa Rica to provide health care.
