• Credentialing and Privileging Decisions of Family Physicians by Non-Physician Practitioners

    Deleted, BOD, September 15, 2022, p. 8.

A non-physician practitioner is not a clinical equivalent of a residency-trained board-certified family physician regardless of the setting (i.e., ambulatory or inpatient). Therefore, the AAFP opposes non-physician practitioners independently making credentialing or privileging decisions regarding family physicians.
