Electronic Prescribing

The AAFP supports the use of electronic prescribing as a means to promote quality patient care. Circumstances outside a physician’s control (e.g., public health emergency, limited broadband access) may inhibit the use of electronic prescribing. The AAFP supports exceptions to allow the use of handwritten prescriptions when electronic prescribing is not feasible.  (January 2022 COD)
