Family Medicine Interest Groups

The AAFP encourages all medical students to participate in a family medicine interest group (FMIG) with purpose. FMIGs create partnerships with medical school departments of family medicine, local and state constituent chapters, family medicine residency programs, and community stakeholders to develop meaningful relationships and increase student choice in family medicine.FMIGs and their collaborators aim to underline the value of primary care, address inequity and dysfunction in health care, improve diversity in the family medicine workforce, and create a shared vision for the future of family medicine in the United States.
