The American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) supports access to comprehensive pregnancy and reproductive health services, including but not limited to abortion, pregnancy termination, contraception, and surgical and non-surgical management of ectopic pregnancy, and opposes nonevidence-based restrictions on medical care and the provision of such services. The AAFP believes pregnancy and reproductive health services are essential to general health care and should be covered under all insurance plans.
