AAFP Initial Response to the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act

From the AAFP Government Relations Department:

We applaud lawmakers for acting quickly to blunt the financial impact of COVID-19.

While we were pleased to see critical primary care workforce programs receive short-term funding, we are in need of immediate and direct financial assistance to family physicians who continue to battle this pandemic and care for their patients even amidst the economic uncertainty.

We hope that Congress continues to recognize that the impacts of this pandemic will require further intervention – especially to those on the frontlines of the nation’s response.
