    Description

    The Women's Hospital of Greensboro, part of Cone Health, is seeking a Family Medicine physician for a Junior Faculty member in a well-established, full-scope clinical and teaching service. The Junior Faculty member is an integral part of the team with important responsibilities.The OB/GYN Faculty Practice includes seven OB/Gyns and eight Certified Nurse Midwives with 24 hour consultation available from Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists. The hospital is a rotation site for Family Medicine Residents from the Cone Health Family Medicine training program, medical students from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Physician Assistant students from area programs. The Faculty Practice is responsible for approximately 25 percent of the 6,000 deliveries performed each year at The Women's Hospital of Greensboro. Training includes management of pregnancies complicated by diabetes, hypertension, renal disease, preeclampsia, preterm labor, multiple gestations, and other medical problems. The fellow can expect to be proficient at cesarean sections, post partum tubal ligation, colposcopy, LEEPs, endometrial biopsy, and circumcision. Training in D & C and basic ultrasound is offered if desired. Gynecological training addressing concerns of tweens to menopause is emphasized in the ambulatory setting throughout the year. The Junior Faculty position is a one-year commitment. One fellow is accepted with the starting date in July/August. Applications are accepted in the fall of the preceding year.Supervision of Fellows is primarily by the fellowship director, Dr. Kelly Leggett, who is a board certified OB/GYN. Teaching is also provided by Dr. Tanya Pratt, who is dual board certified in OB/Gyn and Family Medicine, as well as several other OB/Gyn teaching faculty and Family Medicine teaching faculty.
