    Description

This one year program provides a unique opportunity to develop high level cognitive and technical skills in obstetrics, while also developing skills as a family medicine educator. Our medical center serves as the community hospital and a perinatal referral center, has a level 4 NICU, and delivers about 3000 babies annually. Fellows are involved in every level of OB care from routine to the highest levels of risk. They can expect to perform approximately 250 cesarean sections as well as a variety of other obstetric and gyn procedures. Throughout the fellowship they remain involved in general family medicine through clinic precepting and education of residents in obstetrics and inpatient medicine. Our graduates have been particularly successful in rural practice and in academic medicine.
