    Program Description

Jax Family Medicine is the oldest and largest residency program in the Navy. Since 1971 we’ve had a solid tradition of graduating outstanding Family Physicians who practice the full spectrum of Family Medicine – delivering babies, caring for the elderly, and everyone in between. Our graduates competently provide hospital care to adult and pediatric patients at the Navy’s Military Treatment Facilities (MTF). They are experts in health maintenance for patients of all ages. They provide urgent and emergent medical care for patients in operational and other settings. They also perform a myriad of procedures including neonatal circumcision, minor skin procedures, colposcopies, vasectomies, exercise treadmills, and ATLS protocols among many others. Our family physicians do more things and go more places than any other specialists in the Navy.
