    Program Description

Our program offers training in community-based primary care and academic tertiary care settings. Our residents spend the majority of their time within our community-based Family Medicine Clinic (FMC), while having the advantage of inpatient experiences at our large academic health center. Within our academic health center, our residents are integrated into interdisciplinary teams across a number of departments and services. While in our FMC, residents have the advantage of a low resident-to-faculty ratio, a diverse patient population, half-day didactics, and team care opportunities. Through our core curriculum and opportunities in lifestyle medicine, QI, and population health, our residents are well prepared for their next professional step. Residents can be involved in research within our FMC and across our academic health center. Our residents have the opportunity to learn from lifestyle medicine experts and sit for the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine foundational certifying exam. Our residents have the opportunity to serve within the community by providing medical care on our mobile clinic and at our affiliated free clinic. We also offer a longitudinal leadership in medicine curriculum to prepare our residents to be leaders in healthcare. Our community of Greenville, SC is an awesome place to live life. Greenville, SC is situated in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and conveniently located to Atlanta, GA, Charlotte, NC, and Asheville, NC.
