Program Description
Dual AOA/ACGME Certified. Customized areas of concentration in Maternity Care, Sports Medicine, Rural Medicine, Integrative Medicine, Information Technology, and Hospitalist Medicine. The Bess Truman Family Medicine Center is a Level 3 recognized PCMH. Unopposed university administered program located at a community safety net hospital operated by UMKC Dept of Community & Fam Med. Maternity Care is emphasized, with integrated training in C-sections. Our FMRP does over 1600 deliveries per year with >90% of C-Sections staffed by FM Attendings. Great Inpatient experience. Top 1% EHR hospital in the country with same EHR for inpatient and outpatient clinic and national awards for EHR clinical integration. Servant Leadership emphasis throughout department and residency program. One of the strongest full spectrum family medicine programs in the country. Our goal is to train all of our graduates as future leaders in health care.
