    Program Description

The UConn/St Francis Family Medicine program is a highly unique program with faculty from the University of Connecticut who are dedicated to training future Family Medicine physicians. They belive it is a privilege to care for and learn from patients and to share this learning with residents. The future of family medicine and particularly the population-based delivery of preventive services lies in collaborative care. Our PCMH and team structure organizes our ambulatory and in-patient services where roles of nurses, a family therapist, social workers, a pharmacist, and nutritionist are inextricably intertwined with the care provided by the residents and faculty. Residency curriculum emphasizes evidence-based medicine, information mastery, family-centered maternity care, integrative medicine, procedural training, and much much more.
