Program Description
Longest established U of Washington affiliated, community hospital-based program in Tacoma. Our mission is teaching Family Medicine for full-spectrum compassionate care to communities in need. Training is rich in OB-including high risk and operative; pediatrics; and procedures. Our EMR is Epic. Family Medicine- OB Fellowship complements the residency and adds dedicated Ob-Gyn faculty. Great setting on Puget Sound with access to both city life and Pacific NW outdoors. In 2017, TFM received formal Osteopathic Recognition. In 2022, we added a separate Rural Training Program in Omak, WA (R1 year in Tacoma, R2 and R3 years in Omak). Diverse faculty with various interests and areas of special expertise including addiction medicine, reproductive health, LGBTQIA+ and gender affirming care, developmental disabilities, POCUS, osteopathy, research and preventive health.
