    Program Description

The UCSF Fresno Family and Community Medicine Residency Program has served the communities of California's Central Valley for over 50 years. Our mission to deliver relationship-centered comprehensive care in multicultural, medically underserved communities is achieved through partnerships with the regional Level 1 trauma center, a local children's hospital, the Veterans Administration of Fresno, and federally qualified health centers in both urban and rural settings. Unique rotations in community medicine and advocacy and leadership prepare our residents to become community leaders advancing health equity and improving the lives of the diverse populations we serve. Full scope family medicine training is supplemented by specialized care opportunities in FM obstetrics, sports medicine, harm reduction, mobile health, wilderness medicine and gender affirming care, ensuring each resident can tailor their education to align with their professional goals.
