    Program Description

Memorial Family Medicine Program is a well-established, unopposed, community-based Family Medicine Residency in Texas since 1970 with 14 residents per year. Over 3 years, residents become competent and confident in the management of any patient, from inpatient and critical care to outpatient medicine including procedures and maternity care. We are proud of our residents’ board scores as the highest in the region. We train at our Family Medicine Center, Physicians at Sugar Creek in Sugar Land, providing interdisciplinary care with 40,000 visits per year, and Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital, a 541-bed facility with 60,000 ER visits per year and bustling OB service in the medically underserved Southwest Houston with a highly diverse patient population. Our graduates practice in a variety of settings: private or hospital-affiliated outpatient clinics, inpatient as hospitalists, urgent care, academic medicine, and leading major physicians' organizations nationwide. Houston and the surrounding suburbs (including Sugar Land) offer mild winters, tremendous restaurants, theater, professional sports, and a low cost of living! In addition, our program provides: -Enthusiastic and diverse core and volunteer specialty faculty who love to teach -Robust training and track available in sports medicine as well as numerous elective opportunities -Competitive salary and excellent benefits, including a generous CME allowance -Wellness curriculum with dedicated time for well-being and self-care -Single, integrated Epic EMR for both clinic and hospital -Core MS3 and elective MS4 rotations, giving residents opportunity to teach
