    Program Description

    MyMichigan Medical Center Midland Family Medicine Residency has been ACGME accredited since 1969 and now offers two training options. Our long-standing residency offers a 6-6-6 three-year, unopposed program with strong inpatient, population health and procedural training, along with daily office hours that provide exceptional continuity. A new 2-2-2 Rural Track began in 2021. Residents spend their first year in Midland and then two years in Northern Michigan at MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena and Alcona Health Center. The Midland curriculum has been restructured with a longitudinal inpatient experience where residents spend one week during most blocks on the inpatient service rather than whole blocks at a time. This has eliminated all call shifts.
