Program Description
At the Fox Valley Family Medicine Residency Program in Appleton, WI, we are committed to attracting motivated family physician leaders. The Fox Valley Residency faculty consists of nationally recognized, talented and nurturing physicians dedicated to teaching the art and science of Family Medicine. Our goal is to prepare our graduates to be full scope Family Physicians capable of caring for people in any clinical setting (ambulatory, hospital, nursing home, patients homes, the community) and any geographic location (rural, urban, suburban or international). To accomplish this, our curriculum is particularly strong in Procedures (colposcopies, endometrial biopsies, IUD placement, vasectomies, joint injections, casting and splinting, colonoscopies, among other), OB (routinely 125-150 deliveries, more if interested), Hospital Medicine, Geriatrics, Behavioral Medicine, opportunities for international and rural rotations and a robust Community Medicine curriculum. Each resident develops an individualized curriculum tailored to their interests and passions. Our graduates are well trained full scope doctors, that can and do go anywhere in the world and practice. Some of them choose to hang up some of those skills, but it is a decision based on their interests, not the breadth and depth of their training.
