Program Description
The AHN Heritage Valley Family Medicine Residency Program—accredited in 1979—is affiliated with both the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. As an unopposed program located within a large, advanced healthcare facility, residents face no competition for patients, procedures, or deliveries. The comprehensive curriculum allows residents to manage the full spectrum of family medicine entirely in-house, ranging from newborn and maternity care to complex ICU patient management. All outpatient training takes place at a dedicated, state-of-the-art 13,000-square-foot Family Medicine Center in Beaver Falls, PA. This facility features a system wid electronic health record (EHR) system, in-house imaging, laboratory services, a pharmacy, and point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS). Training at this center provides exceptional exposure to ambulatory medicine, as residents deliver comprehensive medical care to the region's undeserved population.
