    Program Description

    The Munson Family Practice Residency Program is an ACGME accredited 6/6/6 program accepting both DO and MD trainees. Our rural-based program is located in Traverse City, Michigan and is structured to train physicians for rural and small town practice. Ambulatory, hospital, and community-based training are utilized throughout the residency. Community-based training is with a robust street medicine and sports medicine program. Our residency offers a rare opportunity to advance your education in a truly remarkable geographic setting. Traverse City is the hub for a region with lakes, beaches, four seasons of outdoor activities, and cultural amenities beyond those usually found in other small town settings. The combination of a high quality health care system, a beautiful natural setting, and an innovative educational program make this an attractive residency training site.
