Program Description
We are a Department of Defense Residency where all applicants must be Active Duty military or on a military medical scholarship. Our program covers the breadth of family medicine with a strong emphasis on procedures and humanitarian missions. We offer an Area of Concentration for one of our scholarly activity options which involves spending elective time, CME time and scholarly writing in an area of interest. Example AOCs include wilderness medicine, womens health, underserved medicine, amputee care, military operational medicine, rheumatology, dermatology to name a few. One of our faculty is the founder of a local free clinic where residents can spend time if they so desire. We rotate at both a civilian pediatric emergency department as well as a Level-I trauma center for our adult emergency medicine rotation. Our beaches are the most beautiful in the contiguous 48 states.
