Program Description
UNC Family Medicine Residency Program proudly provides a full-spectrum residency training experience combining the best aspects of an academic medical center, community hospital rotations, ambulatory training sites (including community health centers, health departments, urban clinics, private practice settings), and a rural emergency room experience. We have a special emphasis on evidence-based practice, developing leaders in the new model of care (patient-centered medical home), providing care to underserved populations, and full engagement in hospital-based medicine and intrapartum care throughout all three years of training. Our goal is to provide a residency training foundation that gives our graduates unlimited choices in their future scope and location of practice.
