Program Description
Our program is designed to train compassionate, skilled clinicians who lead with purpose and advocate for health equity at every level. We match these attributes with a curriculum that is both rigorous and adaptable—offering opportunities for advanced clinical training, leadership development, community engagement, academic medicine, policy, and advocacy. As part of Duke University, we leverage the strengths and resources of a leading academic institution while remaining grounded in the communities we serve. Our program is committed to training exceptional broad-spectrum clinicians with a strong foundation in population health and opportunities for individualized areas of focus; embedding residents in meaningful community partnerships that drive real change; building an inclusive, psychologically safe learning environment grounded in a culture of purpose, growth, authenticity, and belonging.
