    Program Description

    The Family Medicine Residency at St. Elizabeth Health Center provides a well-rounded education that prepares graduates to practice in a variety of settings. Outstanding subspecialty support and a faculty that is invested in the education of the residents allows for the development of high quality physicians in a relaxed, family-type atmosphere. Flexibility with electives permits the resident to emphasize their special interests while still obtaining a strong base of general family medicine skills. There is adequate time for study, family, and personal pursuits in an environment that has a long history of support for medical education. Youngstown is located halfway between Pittsburgh and Cleveland and allows easy access to interstates, major airports, and metropolitan activities while retaining a small town appeal with a low cost of living. A major teaching affiliation provides the opportunity for residents to gain teaching skills and a medical school appointment.
