Program Description
Community Health Network, Inc. offers a 3-year ACGME accredited Osteopathic Family Medicine Residency. We accept 4 residents each year. We currently are applying for osteopathic recognition for all positions within the residency. We require that our applicants have formal accredited osteopathic training. Eligible applicants will include DO students/graduates from a traditional AOA accredited medical school or MD students/graduates who can document successful completion of a minimum of 120 hours of formal osteopathic training which includes osteopathic philosophy and techniques in manipulative medicine through OMM workshops, CME, and electives. Interested MDs will need to contact the Residency Coordinator (Rhonda Brock) at rbrock2@ecommunity.com to provide documentation of this training along with a timeline of completion. At least 90 hours must be completed and documentation of performance provided to the admissions committee by the Rank list deadline (February 20, 2019) in order to be ranked. The remaining hours must be completed/documented by May 1, 2019. Our program provides a focus on osteopathic training and support for OMM use in patient care throughout residency. Our residents are given the tools they need to provide thorough, comprehensive osteopathic treatment in addition to their solid primary care training. We teach and utilize Patient Center Medical Home principles in our clinic. We offer a multidisciplinary patient care model with Pharmacy, Behavioral Health and Nutrition practitioners on site to improve patient care and expand the scope of each resident’s education.
