Program Description
Our residency program is a unique partnership between Open Door Family Medical Center, Phelps Hospital, Northwell Health and Zucker School of Medicine. Phelps residents care for patients at the Sleepy Hollow Open Door Health Center, a modern Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with a state of the art EMR and an advanced system for patient advocacy and population based health care. Inpatient training is unopposed at Phelps, a community hospital on the banks of the Hudson. The program was founded in 2012 and has since graduated four classes of residents with 100% post-residency employment and board pass rates. Many residents have chosen to remain in our local community to live and work after graduation: three graduates are now on faculty with our program; seven other graduates work/worked for the affiliated hospital and Federally Qualified Health Center. Several residents have received and completed prestigious fellowships. Our goal is to train family physicians to serve and lead in the New York Hudson Valley and beyond. We hope that you will make us part of your future.
