    Program Description

Rural based 1+2 Rural Training Program in Northwest Washington. Residents in the Swedish Cherry Hill Rural Training Track (SCH RTT) have the unique opportunity to train in Seattle for their intern year and then spend the subsequent two years in Port Angeles, Washington, a town of 20,000 located on the beautiful Olympic Peninsula. The SCH RTT program is ideal for residents who are passionate about providing care to the underserved in a rural healthcare setting. Residents will take part in experiential learning in community assessment and advocacy, a wide variety of inpatient and outpatient procedures, obstetrical care, and medication assisted treatment (MAT) for substance use disorders. Physicians at NOHN have been pioneers of MAT on the Olympic Peninsula, which has experienced some of the highest rates of opioid use disorder in the state.
