Program Description
Our Family Medicine Residency Program is a community-based training experience deeply rooted in serving diverse populations and addressing the social determinants of health (SDOH). We provide residents with a comprehensive and compassionate approach to care that extends beyond the clinic walls. Our curriculum includes a robust HIV program that equips residents with the skills to manage and advocate for patients living with HIV, while our Lifestyle Medicine Residency Curriculum empowers trainees to integrate evidence-based lifestyle interventions into preventive and chronic disease care. A unique aspect of our program is our emphasis on continuity of care through home visits, allowing residents to gain firsthand insight into patients’ living conditions and the broader context of their health. This community medicine model fosters deeper relationships and helps bridge gaps in care. Training in our program means serving a culturally rich and diverse patient population, preparing residents to deliver equitable, patient-centered care in a variety of settings.
