    Program Description

    Accredited in 2019, our Family Medicine residency program is devoted to enthusiastically training the next generation of Family Medicine physicians in the historic town of Alton, Illinois! Residents in our program can expect support at the program, clinic, medical community, and hospital levels, as well as the institutional level from the SIU School of Medicine, Office of Graduate Medical Education. Our program is the fifth Family Medicine for the SIU School of Medicine and the first residency to ever grace the halls of our hospital and clinic. We are looking for leaders who have the hearts of Family Medicine physicians and a passion to serve in an underserved community. Our residents have a seat at the table when it comes to our program's development and we strongly encourage residents to provide feedback to the program. We are excited for the future of our program and revitalizing Family Medicine in our area!
