Program Description
The Syracuse Community Health Family Medicine Residency Program is a community-based, unopposed residency dedicated to training compassionate, highly skilled family physicians committed to serving diverse and medically underserved populations. Residents gain extensive continuity clinic experience at a federally qualified health center (FQHC), providing comprehensive, patient-centered care across the lifespan while addressing health disparities and social determinants of health. Our curriculum offers broad clinical training through partnerships with Rome Medical, SUNY Upstate University Hospital and Samaritan Medical Center. Residents receive robust education in inpatient medicine, obstetrics, pediatrics, emergency medicine, surgery, behavioral health, dermatology, women's health, population health, quality improvement, and community medicine. With a small class size, residents benefit from individualized mentorship.
