    This position is elected at the AAFP National Conference and candidates should plan to attend. 

    Gain non-profit board leadership experience and mentoring from established leaders in family medicine.

    Responsibilities

    Term: September 1, 2023, - August 31, 2024

    • Inform and provide a resident perspective to program directors on environmental issues impacting residents and their education
    • Attend required AFMRD in-person Board meetings
    • Participate in monthly conference calls of the AFMRD Board of Directors
    • Provide written reports as requested
    • Attend Residency Leadership Summit in conjunction with AFMRD in-person Board Meeting
    • Attend National Conference to gather information on resident issues
    • Attend Family Medicine Advocacy Summit (optional)

    Application Summary

    Candidates for this position are elected at the AAFP National Conference of Family Medicine Residents and Medical Students. Candidates should plan to attend the entirety of the conference. Candidates are required to be nominated at the conference, deliver a 2 - 3 minute speech, participate in a candidate Q&A, and, if elected, participate in a new officer orientation Saturday afternoon of the conference.

    • Letter of support from your program director
    • Support form completed by your AAFP chapter (state or constituent chapter)
    • Completed conflict of interest disclosure
    • Photo
