How to submit a proposal
Log in to the AAFP proposal submission website.
- Members may log in using their AAFP ID. Not a member? Call (800) 274-2237 or create an AAFP account to obtain the required credentials to submit an application. Login credentials may take one week to process; please plan accordingly, as late applications will not be accepted.
Enter proposal information. You may save and return to continue your proposal at any time until the Tuesday, September 8, deadline.
- Submit a proposal for a workshop, poster presentation and/or a financial scholarship.
- Family medicine professionals, educators, trainees, students, and partners who are passionate about global health or interested in making a global impact are encouraged to submit a proposal and/or apply for a financial scholarship.
- Have an innovative program, successful initiative, or practical approach to global health to share? The Global Health Education Advisory Panel invites physicians to submit workshop proposals on the following topics:
- Health for All: Advancing Equity and Inclusive Global Health
- Integrating Global Health into Medical Education and Practice
- Emerging Technology and Global Health (AI and Beyond)
- Global is Local: The GLOCAL Perspective in Family Medicine
- All presentations will be delivered in a live, in-person setting between Thursday, April 15 and Friday, April 16, 2027.
- Each workshop may have a maximum of five (5) presenters (co-presenters can be removed, but additional co-presenters cannot be added after submission).
- Only the primary presenter will receive payment for the workshop(s) by the terms outlined in their contract. Co-presenters will not receive any form of payment.
- No changes are allowed to the presentation slides once the final version has been submitted by early February 2027.
- All presentations will be a total of 45 minutes in length.
- Share your research, quality improvement work, innovations, and new ideas through a poster presentation. Posters are a great way to showcase your work, exchange ideas, gather feedback, and connect with colleagues who share your interests.
- Available to medical students, residents, and international attendees from historically under-resourced countries. Scholarships aim to reduce financial barriers and help support the next generation of globally engaged family physicians.
- Scholarship recipients will be notified by the end of January 2027 and will receive funding to support attendance at the Global Health Summit.
Expected timeline
Proposals will be accepted between now and Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
Mid-October 2026
- Proposal notifications sent.
January 2027
- Scholarship winners will be notified with the financial amount allocated.
Early February 2027
- Workshop presentation due.
- Poster slides due.
CME requirements
- All presenters must complete a conflict-of-Interest disclosure form. A financial relationship disclosure does NOT prevent a proposal from being selected, but the conflicts may need to be mitigated.
