The health equity online course will educate learners to better recognize inequitable behavior or situations related to, and increase awareness around, diversity, equity, inclusion (DEI), and anti-racism. It will enable learners to identify what a non-inclusive patient experience might look like and strategies to address and bridge those gaps so anyone, including staff, patients, feel recognized, welcomed, and included.
The sessions include educating around color, race, culture or ethnic origin, with a focus on race. Also learn how to improve communication with these population groups, and within their communities; and, why certain groups feel isolated, resulting in a less-than-optimal patient, doctor relationship.
