    The METRIC Performance Improvement Activity program will be eliminated on December 31, 2022. All modules, and the data, will be inaccessible after this date.

    Purchasing a module is no longer available. Those who have purchased a module must complete it by December 31, 2022.

    Does the module fee cover the cost of Performance Improvement Activities?

    No. The ABFM requires an additional fee. Please consult the ABFM website for more information.

    How will the ABFM know that I’ve fulfilled my Performance Improvement Activities requirement?

    When the final step of Stage C has been completed in the online METRIC tool, you must complete the seven (7) evaluation questions to have your 20 CME credits applied. Your completion record will be electronically transmitted to the ABFM within one week of completion.

    I don’t work in a traditional primary care setting. How do I complete Performance Improvement Activities?

    Diplomates who do not have continuity of care with patients (e.g., physicians working as hospitalists or in ERs) must complete a different type of Performance Improvement Activities through the American Board of Family Medicine. The AAFP suggests family physicians who have questions about this issue contact the ABFM.

    Is it possible to download patient data electronically from my EHR into METRIC?

    It is not possible to electronically upload or download data between METRIC and an EHR.
