All modules of the METRIC program have been approved by the ABFM as an alternative activity for Performance Improvement Activities. The AAFP sends notification of all METRIC program completions to the ABFM within one week of completion.
No. Any interested physician can use the program. However, to earn Performance Improvement Activities credit from the ABFM, you must be in the correct stage of your certification cycle.
The date that you complete your baseline chart review and the date that you complete the METRIC module must both be in the stage of your certification cycle in which you need to fulfill Performance Improvement Activities.
