Don’t miss the only national leadership program dedicated exclusively to family medicine chief residents.

Welcome to your hub for all things related to chief resident leadership development. AAFP’s Chief Resident Leadership Development Program (CRLDP) is the only national family medicine chief resident program in the country.

For over 25 years, this program has offered an interactive, engaging experience that provides chief residents with the most up-to-date resources, tools, and instruction to become strong leaders.

This not only helps provide a solid foundation for your chief residents as they help lead their residency programs but also helps strengthen future leaders in family medicine.

The program begins in May with an in-person meeting in Kansas City and concludes with a September workshop held in conjunction with AAFP Family Medicine Experience (FMX) in Phoenix, AZ.

Space is limited, reserve your chief’s spot today!

Top 4 Reasons to Send Your Chiefs

“It’s a no-brainer sending your chief residents to the AAFP Chief Resident Leadership Development Program. It’s a great investment in the residency program. The skills learned allow the chiefs to handle most of the day-to-day issues that pop up in many programs. Finally, the faculty are seasoned educators and effective mentors who are dedicated to the development of these current and future Family Medicine leaders.”

John R. Bucholtz, DO | Program Director | Family Medicine Residency Program
    Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown

“The AAFP Chief Resident Leadership Development Program is a great opportunity to build a network of co-chiefs at other residency programs. The two chief residents from our program have a group chat with other chiefs [they] met that has been a great resource for asking questions throughout the year.”

Tamara S. Younge | Education Program Coordinator | Family Medicine Residency Program | Mayo Clinic
